Woodfire pizza at The Lauber.

Are you ready to enjoy pizza and beer in a whole new way? If so, you’ll want to check out The Lauber, a fantastic new restaurant in downtown South Bend. You’ll find artisan pizza, craft beers, and cocktails to please even the most fastidious gourmand. Best of all, you get to enjoy it all in a relaxed, friendly environment.

Visiting The Lauber

The Lauber has an open-concept kitchen, which means you can watch the chefs work as you wait for your meal. You also have the option of taking a seat at the bar, open-air patio, or dining room.

Chrome pendant lights imbue the restaurant with a modern ambiance, and the tall ceilings add to the expansive feel of the place. Meanwhile, there’s a TV behind the bar if you want to keep up with your favorite sports team’s itinerary.

Mouthwatering Cuisine

The food at The Lauber is accessible yet creative. For a unique starter, try the Tin Can Nachos, made with smoked ancho chili cheese sauce, beef, beans, queso fresco, cilantro, and housemade salsa verde. Meanwhile, the braised pot roast sliders are dreamy with melted cheddar jack cheese and shallot rings.

Don’t forget the star of the menu: pizza. First, choose either a thin-crust or hand-crafted dough. Next, pick your toppings. If you’d like to try something a little out of the ordinary, order one of the artisan pizzas. The Green Goat, made with basil pesto, mozzarella, parmesan, and goat cheese, is delicious and pleasant to the taste.

If, however, you love meat on your pizza, the Butcher Town is your best bet. This amazing pizza is topped with fresh basil, tomatoes, mozzarella, capicola, salami, and fresh Italian sausage.

Amazing Beer and Cocktails

At the bar, you’ll find 24 beer taps, which are well stocked with local craft beers. The Lauber also offers a nice selection of red and white wines, along with several craft cocktails. For something light and refreshing, try the Summer Thyme Mule, made with vodka, fresh watermelon, thyme, lime juice, and simple syrup. The drink is topped with ginger beer.

All in all, The Lauber is a great place to unwind while enjoying great pizza and delicious beer. Want to live near this intriguing restaurant and others like it?
