One of the most well-known productions in the history of musical theater – Mamma Mia! – is coming to the Morris Performing Arts Center near Granger’s Main Street Village Apartments. Whether you haven’t heard the name of the musical before or you’ve seen it several times, the performances at the Morris are two of your final opportunities to witness Mamma Mia! on tour. The show that has moved tens of millions will take Indiana by storm on Monday, May 15 and Tuesday, May 16 at 7:30 pm as part of its “Farewell Tour.”
Marked by its hilarity and humanity, Mamma Mia! recounts the story of a woman on a journey to discover who her father truly is before she gets married. Set on an island, the musical was written by Catherine Johnson and contains the music of ABBA.
One of the most memorable and popular musical productions in the world, it’s significant that this is the show’s “Farewell Tour.” After bows upon bows by globetrotting actors on various stages, you can witness their theatrical prowess on the stage in South Bend at 211 North Michigan Street. The shows on Monday the 15th and Tuesday the 16th, which are scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm, will conclude around 9:30 pm. Arrive a little early; you can park your vehicle in a number of places including the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel and 1st Source Bank Complex, the parking structure at the intersection of North Main Street and West Colfax Avenue, as well as the Leighton Center.
