When the weather is too hot, too cold, or too rainy, a few indoor activities can really save the day. Below, we’re going to introduce you to three of the most enjoyable indoor activities near South Bend. You’ll be glad for these options when the weather isn’t cooperating!
Bounce Around at Sky Zone
The Sky Zone in Mishawaka is an indoor trampoline gym with wall-to-wall trampolines. In addition to providing a good old-fashioned bounce, Sky Zone also allows you to battle to the finish in a game of Ultimate Dodgeball. If dodgeball isn’t your style, test your speed, strength, and agility on the Ninja Warrior Course. You can also try SkySlam, where you’ll use trampoline launch pads to dunk like a pro.
Of course, these are only a few of the exciting activities that await you at Sky Zone.
On Friday and Saturday nights, you may enjoy participating in Glow, where the park will light up with upbeat dance music, lasers, and blacklight. Be sure to wear your coolest neon colors!
Have a Ball at Mega Blast
Get a little competition going with a game of laser tag at Mega Blast. This unique laser tag business has three locations in the Granger area. The South Bend location is fashioned after a neon cityscape experiencing a post-nuclear meltdown. The 10,000-square-foot facility can host 33 players divided among three teams, making it a great option for solo or group outings.
Meanwhile, an optional $10 membership fee allows you to track your game stats against other players on the global stage.
Get Creative at The Pigeon and the Hen Pottery
Looking for something a little different? Painting your own pottery is a great option. The Pigeon and the Hen Pottery, a quaint shop in downtown South Bend, is owned by artists and friends Diana Palomo and Amy Klingler.
The shop offers over 500 figurines, boxes, bowls, plates, and other ceramic items to choose from. After picking your pottery, you can decide on either glaze or acrylic paint. Note that glaze paint is food-safe, but acrylic paint isn’t. You can also take home your acrylic pottery on the same day. Glazed pottery, however, must be fired in a kiln, a process that can take seven to ten business days.
If you’re looking to learn the art of pottery for yourself, take the pottery wheel for a little spin to make your own creations. The Pigeon and the Hen also hosts specialized group classes for those who need more instruction.
