Now that fall has arrived, it’s time for fall activities! Take a hayride, explore corn mazes, and find the perfect pumpkin.
If you’re looking to enjoy some old-fashioned fall fun this weekend, visit one of the following seasonal pumpkin patches:
Thistleberry Farm Pumpkin Patch
(through October 31)
Spending a fall day at Thistleberry Farm is an annual tradition for many area residents. Owned and operated by the same family since 1945, the forty-acre property offers beautiful scenery in addition to an array of activities such as giant jumping pillows, duck races, and challenging corn mazes. Visitors can also take a hayride to the u-pick pumpkin patch where they’ll find pumpkins in all different shapes and sizes, and on October 21st, Cheri Hallwood will be on hand to read her book “One Wish for Winifred Witch.” Cheri’s reading is not to be missed as she is an award-winning author who knows how to tell delightful tales with surprising twists.
Matthys Farm Market
(open weekends in October)
Since the early 1900s, Matthys Farm Market has strived to provide the community with farm-fresh produce and friendly service. Shop the crops and explore the farm. Plus, in the month of October, the farm offers hours of fun with a pumpkin patch that’s complete with live entertainment, hayrides, a corn maze, and a petting zoo. When visitors want to take a break, they can also munch on elephant ears and sip hot apple cider. Delicious!
